I want to let my customers and vendors know I am a member of the Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce. Can I use the Chamber logo on my letterhead, advertisements and business cards etc...?
Members are encouraged to show pride in your membership by using the Chamber logo on your business collateral pieces and your Web site. Members may download the official version of the Chamber’s logo directly from the Chamber’s Web site, (available in the Member’s Only Section). Please contact the marketing department for other version or formats. All printed collateral or use of the logo must get prior approval from the marketing department at the Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce.

I would like to volunteer to serve on a committee or task force at the Chamber? Who do I call?
Any questions about membership can be answered by contacting our Membership Services at (702) 641-5822 (LVCC), option 2.

What is the charge for BizPAC on my invoice?
The Business Political Action Committee (BizPAC) contribution showing on your Chamber invoice is a voluntary contribution. The Chamber works hard to protect your interest in Carson City by acting as a united voice for Southern Nevada.

I don’t have time to become heavily involved in Chamber activities. Does this decrease the value of my membership?
Not at all, as a matter of fact, only about 10% of all Chamber members participate actively in volunteer positions within the Chamber. Your membership is designed to give you a tremendous return on your investment even if you do not have to lots of extra time.

How do I submit press releases to the Chamber for publication in the Members News section of The Business Voice?
Members in good standing may submit up to one press release per month for publication. Submission standards are found on page 2 of The Business Voice monthly. Send releases to Public Relations at (702) 735-0320 or e-mail the release to pr@lvchamber.com.

How does the Chamber decide how to assess dues to members?
In the vast majority of cases, the formula for setting the level of dues combines a minimum base rate plus a small fee per full time permanent employee. The system is designed to result in a “fair share” contribution by business of all sizes. There are special dues formulas for some business categories. There are several ways to upgrade your membership to acquire additional benefits.

Why does the Chamber charge money for some of its events and programs?
The Chambers offers a wide spectrum of benefits at no charge as part of your membership. Some elective programs require a nominal fee in order to be self-sustaining and not impact the price of the basic membership.

Doesn’t the Chamber just serve casinos and other big businesses?
Many people are surprised to learn that 85% of all Chamber members are small businesses with 25 or fewer employees. Many Chamber programs are specially designed with small business needs in mind.

Does the Chamber receive any tax dollars for its operations?
No. The Chamber is a not-for-profit, 501(c) 6, organization and derives its income from membership dues, donations and sponsorships.

Who do I call to enroll in the Chamber’s group health insurance program?
The Chamber offers group health insurance policies through its insurance provider, Health Plan of Nevada (HPN). Inquires may be directed to any insurance agent who is a Chamber member and who is licensed to sell the Chamber’s HPN policies. Check your Chamber Buyer’s Guide and Membership Directory for contact names.

Why is the Chamber so involved in politics?
Many companies, especially small businesses, don’t have the time to be involved in politics. So the Chamber is there to represent their best interests and ensure Nevada remains a business-friendly land of opportunity with a minimum of government interference and taxation.

What does the Chamber do beyond helping business, to improve the quality of life here in Southern Nevada?
There a number of ways the Chamber adds to the quality of life we all enjoy. The area in which we are most active is education. The Chamber staff and volunteers support promote and contribute their time and resources to community focused programs such as STEP UP, WE CARE, Clark County Reads and its award winning proprietary, personal development programs Leadership Las Vegas, FOCUS Las Vegas are designed to develop future community leaders that will be active and give back to the community in years to come.

Where do I find out about upcoming Chamber events?
The Business Voice, our monthly member magazine’s center event spread to become familiar with all Chamber events for the upcoming month. Also, contact our Membership Services Hotline by calling (702) 641-5822 (LVCC), option 2.

Who do I contact for advertising opportunities?
The Chamber has several affordable, highly targeted advertising options. From display ads on our Web site to full-page ads in The Business Voice, any of these can be discussed directly with the Chamber Advertising department manager at (702) 641-5822, ext. 231.
